Welcome to the One Piece Summer Festival Zine!This is a zine specifically for newbies/ beginners in the zine scene! In order to join this project, you must have participated in fewer than 3 zines in the past. Never been in a zine before? Awesome, come apply! This will be a FREE DIGITAL SFW zine.Contributors will be allowed to do any character(s) they wish as long as it fits in the Tanabata or summer festival theme.As much as we love shipping, this zine will be ship free, sorry everyone.

Here are a few frequently asked questions!

+ Will reader insert items be accepted into the zine?
The zine is for canon content only. We will be accepting reader insert examples in the applications, but not in the zine itself.+ Will AU/Alternate Universe be allowed?
Yes! Canon-compliant timelines where certain characters are alive and well are accepted. We will also accept Alternate Universes: modern, fantasy, etc. Anything you can think of! As long as it's focused on the summer festival vibe and theme.+ Does it cost money to participate?
Nope! Just need to apply.+ How much will the zine cost?
This is a free zine.+ Will there be a not safe for work portion?
No, it’s all safe for work.+ Is there an age restriction on applications?
Everyone who applies needs to be 16+.+ Is the zine digital or physical?
Digital.+ Can I apply for more than one role?

Guidelines

Be sure to read through the guidelines!

Expectations:
We will be looking for a wonderful selection of Page/Spread artists, Writers, and Cosplayers!No former zine experience required, in FACT, you can only participate if you have been in LESS than 3 zines!
You must either have or be willing to create a Discord as this is how we will be organizing the zine.Artists
All artists will draw either one or two pages (your choice!), or a single spread. You will have the option to collaborate with a writer or other artists if you so choose. All art must be SFW.Applicant requirements:
Understanding of composition, anatomy, backgrounds, and color theory
Submit 3 - 5 sample pieces, preferably One Piece characters but others are accepted as well.Writers
Writers will be writing 1-2 pieces of between 500-1200 words. The pieces could be cute and heartwarming, sad and angsty, or action packed, but must be SFW!Applicant requirements:
Submit between 3 - 5 sample pieces that best showcase your abilities
Demonstrated ability to tell an engaging story within 1500 words (can be an excerpt from longer works!)
Good grasp of grammar, diction, and English vocabulary
It is preferred that at least one sample be One Piece
Must be able to complete the piece by the deadline.Cover Artist
We are looking for 2 cover artists to do the front and back of the zine! They will have an understanding of composition, anatomy, backgrounds, and color theory.
Submit 3 - 5 samples, preferably One Piece characters but others are accepted as well.Cosplayers
Cosplays should focus on One Piece characters, either from the manga, color spreads, or anime.Application requirements:
Quality photos
Examples of previous cosplay photos, preferably with an online portfolio or socials.
